Over his career, Mr. Vitenson has been responsible for over $6 billion in financing to small and midsized enterprises. He was CEO of Capital Partners, which he grew into one of the largest factoring companies in the US. Prior to CP, he was President of Houston-based Shell Capital Commercial Finance, where he headed Shell Oil’s global small business and middle market lending ventures.
Mr. Vitenson was President and CEO of San Diego-based International Franchise Capital (IFC). Funded by Deutsche Bank and Nomura Securities, IFC became one of the largest franchise lenders in the US. IFC was purchased by Heller Financial (subsequently GE Capital) in 1999.
Mr. Vitenson’s consulting clients have included Fortune 500 retailers and franchisors, financial institutions, and the U.S. Government. He is a graduate of The University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, MBA program, concentrating in Marketing and Finance.

Derek Barclay is a passionate entrepreneur who has been in the consumer finance industry for over 5 years. He was the co-founder and CEO of BounceBack Finance, a sales and marketing company that partnered with multiple consumer finance lenders. He successfully grew and led the company to a merger and acquisition with a growing medical fund out of Utah. Utilizing the knowledge gained through this experience, Derek co-found First Look Approval shortly after which had a focus on consulting with merchants on the variety of available consumer finance programs in today’s market. After working with over two dozen different financing programs, Derek saw a need for merchants to access multiple lenders through one universal process and streamlined system, which is why LoanHero was formed.
Co-Founder & Chief Product Officer
Kristin Slink began her career in consumer finance by leading the development of a loan origination platform for a medical services fund in 2011. Utilizing her knowledge of the industry and understanding of the merchants’ need for multiple finance programs, she co-founded First Look Approval, a consumer finance company with a focus on consulting with merchants on which program would work best for their business. Over the years, Kristin has implemented over two dozen different consumer finance programs in businesses across a variety of industries and has learned first-hand the inefficiencies of utilizing multiple systems in order to get customers approved. LoanHero was founded to provide merchants with a streamlined platform that integrates these programs to provide one, easy to use process.
Chief Financial Officer
Olaf Janke serves as LoanHero’s Chief Financial Officer, transitioning most recently from his role as Chief Financial Officer at Solar Mosaic, Inc. and previously serving in various roles as CFO and EVP in specialty finance. Janke has raised more than $10 billion of fixed income, $3 billon of equity and concluded over $3 billion of M&A transactions in his 27 years of experience.
Steve Connolly is a seasoned executive with 25+ years of leadership experience, where the majority of his career has been with the General Electric Company and his last 13 years at GE were with GE Capital. Steve has led multiple businesses in the commercial equipment finance arena, first of which was a start-up in the security alarm space underwriting retail contracts, while his last role at GE Capital, was as President and CEO of a global parts trading and financing business in the commercial aviation space. Since GE, Steve was the Senior Vice President and GM of the Outdoors business for the The Active Network and most recently led operations for Corelogic’s credit services businesses.
Steve earned his BBA from the University of San Diego and is certified as a Six Sigma Black Belt.
Chief Risk Officer
Matthias brings over 15 years’ experience in the financial services industry. Before joining LoanHero, Matthias was Senior Director of Analytics at CoreLogic, where his team developed solutions for mortgage fraud detection, consumer credit scoring, rental investment analysis, and marketing models. Previously, Matthias was Chief Analytics Officer at Covario and Director of Analytics at FICO. He developed a truly next-generation entity linking methodology, fundamental technology for processing unstructured data including text, adaptive neural network algorithms, and carried out climate change research in Antarctica. He has been awarded 9 patents and published over 20 peer-reviewed papers.
Matthias earned a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of California, San Diego and a BS in Applied Physics from Caltech.
Director of Account Management
Jeremiah brings over 15 years of professional management experience to the LoanHero team. He began his professional career with a financial start up called PeopleFirst here in San Diego. PeopleFirst was acquired by Capital One in 2001. Post-acquisition, Jeremiah helped transition the business from San Diego to Plano, TX, managing the Funding, First Contact, M&A Test Team and the Direct to Consumer Inbound Call Center during his tenure. Since leaving Capital One, Jeremiah has broadened his operational leadership skills across multiple industries including import/export, marketing, technology, and legal collections, in addition to his Finance background. Jeremiah’s passion is to help people and businesses reach their full potential.
Executive Vice President of Sales
Mikel Sides brings over 15 years of Business Development and Sales Leadership experience, most recently as Vice-President of Client Development with Citigroup. His experience spans across the financial services, big box retail, and wholesale-distribution industries to include retail point of sale financing, private and co-branded credit cards, and installment loans. Throughout his career Mikel has also assembled and led multiple national business development teams. He has played key roles in multiple start-up sales divisions that required rapid scaling of the business, end to end program build out, go-to-market strategies, growth plans, and managed the design and development of the multiple CRM platforms.
With over 20 years of software industry experience, Chandra brings deep expertise in online software technologies and high transaction enterprise systems to LoanHero. Most recently, Chandra served as Assoc. VP at Sogeti USA, with delivery oversight for Arizona and Colorado software engagements. Previously, as VP of software at Global Analytics, Chandra led a global engineering team to significantly enhance and scale their lending platform to support the company’s accelerated growth. Prior to Global Analytics, Chandra held several technology leader ship roles and delivered a variety of software solutions including virtualization of online education systems as Senior Software Architect at Bridgepoint Eductation, online integration solutions for SMB businesses as Chief Technologist at Epitome Solutions, mediation solutions to large telecom clients as Director of Professional Services at Vertel Corp., CORBA middleware products in Java as Senior Engineering Manager at Expersoft Corp. and network management software products for the RBOCs during his tenure at AT&T (Lucent) Bell Laboratories.
Chandra holds a M.S. degree in Computer Science from Ohio State University and a B. Tech. degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Madras, India
